Andrea Di Credico holds a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine, with the distinction of Doctor Europaeus, and he is specialized in the scientific sector of Human Anatomy. He is currently a researcher at the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara and a member of the Cell Reprogramming and Differentiation Lab, led by Prof. Angela Di Baldassarre, within the Department of Medicine and Sciences of Aging.
Throughout his career, he has conducted research in the fields of microscopic anatomy, cellular and molecular biology, with a particular focus on morphology. His primary interests include investigating the effects of various external stimuli (such as molecules, altered metabolic conditions, and genetic modifications) on neurons, stem cells, and muscle cells. Currently, his main research focus is on studying the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on nervous system development, using 2D and 3D cell culture systems, such as brain organoids.
He has also conducted research at two European institutions: the August Krogh Physiology Laboratory and the Novo Nordisk Center of Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) at the University of Copenhagen. During this time, he collaborated with leading experts in integrative physiology and metabolic pathologies. His expertise includes techniques such as immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, Western blot, real-time PCR, microscopy, electrophysiology assays, and cell cultures.

Yaiza Potes is currently Associate Professor in the Morphology and Cell Biology Department at the University of Oviedo, Spain. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2012 and completed her Master’s degree in Biotechnology in 2013 at the University of Oviedo. In 2019, she completed her Ph.D. in Health Sciences at the same University under the supervision of Dr. Ana Coto-Montes and Dr. Ignacio Vega-Naredo. During this period, her research focused on elucidating the mechanisms associated with sarcopenia in muscle samples from elderly patients and identifying which cellular pathways are critical for the myogenic commitment and differentiation of C2C12 progenitor cells. In 2019, after completing her doctorate, Yaiza Potes joined Dr. Mariusz Wieckowski at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology (Polish Academy of Sciences), Poland, where as a postdoc she deepened into the evaluation of mitochondrial biology and metabolism. Particularly, she investigated hepatic redox alterations and key indicators of mitochondrial dysfunction that drive the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. In 2021, she rejoined the University of Oviedo as an Assistant Professor, and since 2023, she has held the position of Associate Professor. She is a member of the cellular Response to Oxidative Stress (cROS) research group. Yaiza Potes’ current research focuses on autophagy and mitochondrial metabolism, specifically on alterations resulting from aging and lifestyle-related diseases such as sarcopenia and mental disorders. Her work also investigates strategies to preserve autophagy and mitochondrial function throughout the lifespan to promote healthy aging.
Lavinia-Eugenia Ferariu

Lavinia Eugenia Ferariu holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Computer Engineering, from Gheorghe Asachi University of Iași, Romania, where she also earned her Ph.D. with a thesis titled “Evolutionary Algorithms Applied to Automatic Control.” Her teaching and research activity have primarily focused on intelligent systems, with applications in automotive, robotics, and medicine. She has developed expertise in various areas of artificial intelligence, including neural networks with internal dynamics, deep learning for semantic segmentation, image transformation and classification, and evolutionary multi-objective optimization.

Romeo Cristian Ciobanu received a Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania, and Ph. D. degrees in Chemistry and rheology nano- and bio-composites from Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania. He is Member of IEEE form 1997 and Senior Member from 2000. He is currently Professor in the Department of Electrical Measurements and Materials of Electrical Engineering Faculty, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi. His main areas of interest are bio- and nano-composite materials and technologies, 3D analysis and imaging (3D x-Ray MicroTomograph), EMC modeling, simulation and testing, design new distributive intelligent monitoring systems.
